Treatment Contraindications

Your safety is our top priority. Please take a moment to review the following contraindications before attending your appointment. If you are unsure whether any of these apply to you, contact us prior to your session for clarification.
General Contraindications
(Apply to both EM Max RF and LIPOcel)
You may not be suitable for treatment if you:
Are pregnant, recently pregnant, or breastfeeding
Have a pacemaker, heart-related implant, stent, or electronic medical device
Have active cancer or are undergoing cancer treatment
Have uncontrolled diabetes
Have active fever, infection, or illness
Have a history of severe heart conditions
Have liver or kidney disease
Are taking photosensitive or skin-thinning medication (e.g., Roaccutane/Isotretinoin)
Have had recent surgery (typically within the last 3–6 months, depending on healing)
Have a bleeding disorder or are using anticoagulant medication (blood thinners)
Have metal implants in the treatment area
Have any open wounds, rashes, bruises, or active skin irritation in the treatment zone
If any of the above apply, please notify us before your appointment.
Treatment-Specific Contraindications
LIPOcel (HIFU)
You may not be suitable for LIPOcel if you have:
Hernia in or near the treatment area
Severe skin laxity, open wounds, or active skin conditions in the treatment area
Metal implants directly under or near the treatment area
Nerve disorders affecting the area to be treated
Uncontrolled thyroid conditions
Impaired blood clotting or are currently taking anticoagulants
A condition that reduces sensation in the treatment area (neuropathy, etc.)
Clients who bruise easily or have low pain tolerance should inform their therapist prior to treatment.
EM Max RF
You may not be suitable for EM Max RF if you have:
Epilepsy
Metal implants in or near the treatment area
Cochlear implants or hearing aids
Vascular diseases that affect circulation
Neurological or muscular disorders diagnosed by a medical professional
EM Max RF may not be recommended if you have a history of severe abdominal separation (diastasis recti) until assessed by a therapist.
Possible Contraindications
(May require medical clearance or therapist assessment)
History of cancer (now in remission)
Autoimmune disorders
Vascular disorders
History of thrombosis or thrombophlebitis
Organ transplant recipients
Recently completed steroid medication or long-term anti-inflammatory medication
Previous abdominal surgery (e.g. C-section) — suitability depends on scar maturity & healing
Your therapist will advise during consultation if treatment can proceed or requires clearance.
Contraindications Limited to Treatment Area
Treatment cannot be performed on areas with:
Hernias
Large scar tissue that is still healing
Metal implants or surgical hardware
Infections, inflammation, or skin sensitivity
Keloid scarring tendencies in the treatment area
