About Liftera

What makes Liftera different from other HIFU machines?

Liftera is a fully digitalised HIFU device. It targets precisely, delivering the energy to a single spot rather than letting it spread through the skin to areas that weren't meant to be treated.

It also delivers true peak power: when it reports 1 joule, it delivers exactly 1 joule, not 0.8 or 1.5.

What's the difference between radiofrequency and Liftera?

Liftera HIFU reaches the SMAS layer (the deeper structural layer of the face), whereas radiofrequency doesn't reach this depth. Liftera tends to suit more mature clients, while radiofrequency is usually recommended for younger clients.

Does Liftera help with fat loss?

No. Liftera works on the dermis, the layer beneath it and the SMAS, so it's designed for skin tightening and lifting rather than fat reduction.

Can Liftera be used on the body?

No. Liftera isn't TGA-approved for use on the body, so we only use it on the face, neck and hands.

Can I have Liftera on my hands?

Yes. Liftera can be used on the hands with a 1.5mm or 3mm depth cartridge.

Sessions & results

How long until I see results?

Individual results vary, but collagen rebuilding usually takes 8 to 12 weeks, which is when the skin-tightening effect becomes visible.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies from person to person. We typically recommend 3 to 5 sessions, with the 4th and 5th serving as maintenance appointments. We'll tailor your plan at your consultation.

Before your treatment

Is there anything I should take or use before treatment?

Yes. We recommend using a pigment blocker for 2 to 4 weeks before your first session to help prevent pigmentation after treatment. Taking essential fatty acids (EFAs) and oral antioxidants, like vitamin C, can also support healing. We'll talk you through this at your consultation.

Is there anything I should avoid putting on my face before treatment?

Yes. Please avoid SPF, vitamin A and C products, retinol, oils, and AHAs or BHAs before your treatment.

Can I have Liftera while taking antibiotics?

No. Antibiotics can make your skin more sensitive, which raises the risk of a reaction to the treatment energy. We'll book you in once you've finished your course.

Can I have Liftera soon after IPL hair removal?

Please wait at least 1 week after IPL hair removal on the area before your Liftera treatment.

Can I have Liftera with facial piercings?

We ask that all facial piercings are removed before your session. Tongue piercings are fine, as they stay inside the mouth and don't touch the treatment area.

Is Liftera suitable for me?

Can I have Liftera if I've had Botox?

Yes. Liftera can be performed on areas treated with Botox, as long as it's been at least 4 weeks since your Botox appointment.

Can I have Liftera if I've had fillers?

Yes. Liftera can be performed on areas with filler, as long as it's been at least 8 weeks since your filler appointment.

Can I have Liftera with dental implants or braces?

Yes. To keep you comfortable, we place a cotton pad between your teeth and cheek to protect the area during treatment.

Can I have Liftera after jaw surgery or with metal implants?

No. Metal conducts heat very well, so the focused energy could heat a metal implant faster and hotter than the surrounding tissue, creating a risk of overheating and burns.

Can I have Liftera after surgery?

Liftera can be performed on areas that have had surgery, as long as it's been at least 3 months since the operation.

Can I have Liftera if I have, or have had, cancer?

Liftera can only be performed at least 2 years after cancer.

Can I have Liftera if I have asthma or use a puffer?

Yes, if your puffer is used as a preventative. If you've had a recent asthma flare-up, we'll postpone your treatment until you're well.

Can I have Liftera over tattoos?

Yes, as long as the tattoo is at least 2 to 3 months old. We avoid areas with red ink or metal-based pigments, as these are more sensitive to heat and may fade.

How the treatments work

How do LIPOcel and EM Max RF work?

LIPOcel uses HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) to deliver precise heat to the fat layer under the skin. This permanently destroys fat cells, which your body then naturally clears away, while also stimulating collagen to tighten the skin.

EM Max RF is our dual-technology muscle sculpting system. It produces up to 20,000 muscle contractions in a 30-minute session, far more than any workout, and gently heats the treatment area to reduce fat cells and improve skin firmness.

What areas can be treated?

Both treatments can be used on a wide range of areas, including:

Is this technology safe?

Yes. We use TGA-approved, medical-grade devices and follow strict safety protocols. Both treatments are non-invasive and carried out by trained practitioners.

What to expect

Does it hurt?

Most clients find both treatments very manageable:

LIPOcel has a built-in cooling system, so it feels warm and tolerable, with mild discomfort at most.
EM Max RF feels like an intense workout, with firm muscle contractions.

We adjust the intensity to your comfort throughout your session.

Is there any downtime?

No. Both LIPOcel and EM Max RF are non-invasive, so you can go straight back to your normal routine, including work, errands and exercise.

How should I prepare for LIPOcel?

We'll go through this at your consultation. To keep you safe and help you get the best results:

Avoid heavy exercise for 6 hours before your session
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your session
Avoid caffeine for 2 hours before your session
Avoid heavy or fatty meals within 1 hour of your session
Avoid laser treatments on the area for 2 weeks before your session
Avoid sun exposure on the area for 48 hours before your session
Drink plenty of water in the 6 hours before your session

Results & maintenance

How long until I see results from LIPOcel?

Some clients notice a change straight away. Most of the fat reduction happens between 4 and 6 weeks after treatment, typically 20% to 40% in the treated area, and results keep developing for up to 12 weeks as your body clears the treated fat cells. Individual results vary.

How many EM Max RF sessions will I need?

We recommend 4 sessions, done twice a week over two consecutive weeks. Many clients start seeing results after 2 or 3 sessions, with the best results developing 6 to 8 weeks after the final session.

What results can I realistically expect?

LIPOcel: a gradual reduction in fat in the treated area over 4 to 6 weeks, continuing for up to 12 weeks. Staying hydrated and keeping a healthy lifestyle helps you get the most from your results.

EM Max RF: better muscle tone, firmer skin and improved core strength. Most clients notice a difference after 2 or 3 sessions.

Everyone's body responds differently, so we'll set realistic expectations together at your consultation.

Are the results permanent?

LIPOcel: yes. Treated fat cells are permanently destroyed and naturally cleared from the body. The remaining fat cells can still grow if you gain weight, so a stable weight and healthy lifestyle help your results last.

EM Max RF: fat cells reduced by the treatment are permanently cleared too. Muscle tone, like any muscle, needs upkeep, so we recommend maintenance sessions to keep your results.

Will I need maintenance sessions?

LIPOcel: maintenance every 3 to 6 months can help keep your results at their best, especially if your lifestyle changes.

EM Max RF: yes. We recommend a maintenance session every 2 to 3 months to keep your muscle tone and firmness.

Can these treatments replace diet and exercise?

No. LIPOcel is designed to contour stubborn areas that don't respond to diet and exercise, and EM Max RF works best alongside a balanced fitness and nutrition routine. Nancy, our co-founder and nutritionist, is happy to help with free nutrition advice.

What "area" means

How do you define an area?

It depends on the treatment. For LIPOcel, each of these is one area:

CoolShaping2 fat freezing, EM Max RF, Ultrasound Cavitation, Vacuum Suction and RF Skin Tightening are each measured differently. See the questions below.

How is CoolShaping2 fat freezing measured?

CoolShaping2 is measured per applicator, not per area. Each applicator covers one section of fat, so a larger body region may need more than one applicator. CoolShaping2 can treat up to four applicators at the same time. Your practitioner will confirm how many applicators you need at your consultation.

How is an area measured for Ultrasound Cavitation, Vacuum Suction and RF Skin Tightening?

For these three treatments, one area is approximately A5 size. A larger body region may need more than one area, depending on its size and your treatment plan. Your practitioner will confirm the number of areas at your consultation.

How is an area measured for EM Max RF?

EM Max RF uses different area definitions. One EM Max RF area is:

Whole abdomen
Biceps or triceps (arms)
Inner thighs
Outer thighs
Buttocks/glutes

Why does the number of areas differ between treatments?

Each technology has different applicators and covers a different size of treatment zone. For example, one EM Max RF area covers the whole abdomen, one ultrasound cavitation area is about A5 size, and CoolShaping2 is counted per applicator. That's why the number of areas in a package always relates to the specific treatment being used.

Which package is best for stubborn or thicker areas?

The Deep Sculpt combines CoolShaping2 and Ultrasound Cavitation, and is designed for clients wanting a more intensive approach to thicker or more resistant areas.

For a broader multi-technology approach, The Killer Sculpt combines LIPOcel, CoolShaping2 and EM Max RF.

Which package is best for muscle definition?

The Body Shaper, The Sculpt & Tone and The 3-Area Ultimate Sculpt all include EM Max RF, which supports muscle activation, definition, skin firmness and body shaping.

Can I have LIPOcel on multiple areas?

What is CoolShaping2?

CoolShaping2 is our fat freezing treatment, designed to target localised fat under the skin in suitable areas. It can be used on its own or combined with other Harmony technologies.

Can I treat my chin with CoolShaping2?

Yes. The Chin Sculpt includes 3 CoolShaping2 treatments, designed for suitable clients with localised fat under the chin.

What is EM Max RF?

EM Max RF is our dual-technology muscle sculpting treatment. In one session, it supports muscle activation, body definition, skin firmness and body shaping.

Can I add extra EM Max RF sessions?

Yes. The EM Max RF Boost adds 6 sessions to eligible treatment plans, to further focus on muscle activation, definition and skin firmness.

What is Ultrasound Cavitation?

Ultrasound Cavitation is a non-invasive body contouring treatment included in selected Harmony packages to target localised fat and support body shaping. One cavitation area is about A5 size, so a larger body region may need several areas. Your practitioner will work out the right coverage for you.

What is Liftera?

Liftera is a non-surgical facial treatment from Korea, designed to support skin tightening, lifting and facial contour refinement. All Liftera packages include 3 sessions, and are available for these areas:

Are the results permanent?

Will these treatments help me lose weight?

These treatments are designed for body contouring and localised fat reduction, not general weight loss. They suit clients wanting to target specific areas and enhance their body shape.

How many treatments will I need?

Our packages are multi-session programs, because body contouring works progressively. The right number of treatments for you depends on your treatment area, goals, body composition and how your body responds.

Can I combine treatments that aren't listed together?

Not every combination suits every person or area. Our packages are built around complementary combinations, but if you have a particular combination in mind, your practitioner can assess whether it's suitable for you.

Do I need a consultation?

We recommend a free consultation before starting any new treatment program. Your practitioner will assess your treatment areas, talk through your goals, explain your options and recommend a suitable plan.
